All Japan Embu Taikai

~ Concluded with great success ~

On Saturday, May 25th, the 61st All Japan Embu Taikai was held at Nippon Budokan (National Martial Art Hall). Many people including observers from Shoheijuku participated. Each participant performed a lively embu as making use of their strengths.

I would like to express my sincerely appreciation to those who waited in line to secure our seats early in the morning.

The embu participants from Shoheijuku are as follows:

Though I have been writing the same for the last few years, I was strongly impressed by Hiroshi Tada Sensei’s embu again this time.  Even though he is as old as 95 this year, his strong energy, sharp techniques, and beautiful movement inspire me a lot every year.   

The last program of the embukai was Doshu, Moriteru Ueshiba Sensei’s general embu.

 

He performed his embu as carefully explaining each technique so that it would be easy to understand even for beginners.

Over 20000 spectators looked satisfied and went home.     

Yokohama Shomonkai

On the day after the embukai, the seminar and dan/kyu examination hosted by Yokohama Shomonkai were held at Taito Riverside Sports Center. 46 people participated. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all the Yokohama Shomonkai members for their assistance this year again.
