Kochi Aikido Group

On Sunday, March 3rd, the seminar for Kochi Aikido Group (Mr. Shigehiro Ito, Dojo Rep) was held at Kochi Prefecture Gymnasium. It was a lively seminar as the members of Uwajima Shoheijuku joined us as well.

We had a party after the seminar for the first time in a long time, and we enjoyed the local cuisine of Kochi. Kohei Yamada Shidoin accompanied me.    

Sasebo Aikikai

On Sunday, March 17th, the 70th anniversary event for Sasebo Aikikai (Mr. Masato Kondo, President) was held at Nagasaki Prefecture Martial Arts Hall. We had a seminar for the first half and an embukai for the second half. The celebration party was held after that.

It was an impressive event reflecting the accomplishment built up for a long time.

The president of the dojo, Mr. Masato Kondo, has been very helpful to me since I came to Kyushu as the representative shihan of the region. I would like to express my sincere appreciation.     

I wish Mr. Kondo good health and he continues to teach the dojo members for years to come. I also wish Sasebo Aikikai’s further success and prosperity.

Uji Shoheijuku

On Sunday, March 31st, the seminar and examination for Uji Shoheijuku (Mr. Taizo Ochi, Dojo Rep) were held at Fushimi Youth Activity Center. As the dojo space was small, we restricted the number of participants from each nearby dojo up to two this time. We had around thirty participants.

It was an enjoyable seminar as we had various questions.

Happy Wedding

⦿ Mr. Kenta Uenishi and Ms. Kyo So will have their wedding at La La Chance Hakatanomori on Saturday, April 6th, 12 PM.

I wish them many years of happiness!

⦿ As of April 1st, Katsumasa Kido joined Shoheijuku as an uchideshi.

⦿ Hideki Takemura resigned from Shoheijuku at the end of March.

In the last edition, I wrote that I had received a calligraphy written by Harada Kampo Sensei from Mr. Junji Murata (Hitoyoshi Seishokan, Dojo Rep).

The correct way to read it is “Bambutsu koki wo shozu (All things produce bright light)”.
