Shoheijuku Newsletter July 2023

Yuyukai

On Sunday, June 4th, the examination and seminar for Yuyukai (Mr. Tsukasa Yoshida, Dojo Rep) were held at Kakogawa City Martial Arts Hall.

Many people from the nearby dojos also joined us and it was a lively seminar. This time again, I was impressed to see that everyone was doing “zanshin” very well during the children’s examination.

After the examination, an after-event party was held for the first time in a long time, and we enjoyed good beer and lively conversation.

Ogoori Aikidokai

On Saturday, June 10th, the examination and seminar for Ogoori Aikidokai (Mr. Shigetoshi Kage, Dojo Rep) were held at Ogoori City Martial Arts Hall. The number of members decreased due to COVID-19. However, many of them have returned recently and it was a lively examination session.

Usa Aikidokai

On Sunday, June 11th, the seminar and examination for Usa Aikidokai (Mr. Masamitsu Nagaie, Dojo Rep) were held at Usa City Martial Arts Hall.

As the dojo has many families and couples practicing together, the seminar was held in a friendly atmosphere.

Shimonoseki Dojo

On Sunday, June 25th, the seminar and examination for Shimonoseki Dojo (Mr. Hideo Matsuno, Dojo Rep) were held at Shimonoseki Martial Arts Hall.

Members from Yahata Dojo, Wakamatsu Dojo, Yamaguchi Showakai, Kyushu Institute of Technology, and Shimonoski City University also joined us. With the many participants, it was a very lively seminar.

Be Careful about Heatstroke!

  • Do not push yourself or others too much
  • Be careful especially about elderly people and young children

Request

Though we discussed in the last edition, we would like to ask everyone again. When you fill out a testing application form, please print or use the square style rather than cursive. We would appreciate it if you could write clearly so that it would make easier for us to read. [Editor’s note: Sensei is referring to when writing Japanese kanji. Non-Japanese people filling out the grading form should use capital letters.]
