Kumamoto Area Seminar
On Sunday, April 16th, the seminar and Dan/Kyu examination hosted by Kumamoto Dojo (Mr. Koichi Honda, Dojo Rep) was held at Kumamoto Martial Arts Hall. People from other dojos within the prefecture and from Omuta Dojo joined us. It was a lively seminar.
A woman over 80 years old took a 5th kyu test for the first time. I was impressed by her calmness, precise techniques, and grace.
Because we had so many examinees, the time for the seminar was very short. I apologize for that.
The primary purpose of teaching Bushido is to cultivate one’s noble character.

Munakata Area
On Sunday, April 23rd, the joint examination and seminar for the Munakata area were held at Onga Town Martial Arts Hall. Eight dojos participated. This time, the children class members of Munakata Yurix Cultural Courses joined us for the first time. Because it was their first time to take tests in front many people, the members as well as their instructors, Mr. Toshiro Nishida and Mr. Tomohiro Itai, were initially worried if they could do well. However, they performed their techniques confidently.
After the seminar, a party was held at the Budo-no-Ki Nonoan restaurant for the first time in a long time, and we enjoyed good food and drink.
Prefecture Association Seminar
On April 29th (statutory holiday), the seminar for the Fukuoka Prefecture Aikido Association was held at Tenjin Dojo. I taught the class this year again. We had forty-five participants and practiced basic holding techniques.
