Tosu Shoheijuku
On Saturday, July 2nd, the examination and seminar for Tosu Shoheijuku were held at Tosu City Gymnasium martial art room.
After the events, we had a dinner in memory of Mr. Mataji Uchida who passed away in April. We discussed our memories of Mr. Uchida together.
Shimonoseki Dojo
On Sunday, July 3rd, the seminar and examination for Shimonoseki Dojo (Mr. Hideo Matsuno, Dojo Rep) were held at the Prefectural Martial Arts Hall in Shimonoseki City.
Members from Yahata Dojo, Wakamatsu Dojo, Kyushu Institute of Technology, and Shimonoski City University also joined us and it was a lively seminar.
All Kyushu Student Alliance Freshmen Workshop
On Saturday, July 9th, we held a workshop for the freshmen of the All Kyushu Student Alliance at Tenjin Dojo. Though the number of new members this year was relatively small due to COVID-19, all the eight affiliated schools participated.
We had the programs below:
- History of Aikido
- Preparatory exercises
- Basic movements (with and without a partner)
- Basic techniques
- Founder’s teachings
- Q & A
Kagoshima Shoheijuku
On Sunday, July 10th, the joint seminar for Kagoshima Shoheijuku (Mr. Yoichi Toyokura, Dojo Rep) and Kaede Kyoreisai (Mr. Hirotaka Osa, Dojo Rep) was held at Kagoshima City Martial Arts Hall.
Some Kyushu University alumni from Fukuoka joined us.
Yatsushiro Dojo
On Sunday, July 17th, the seminar and examination for Yatsushiro Dojo (Mr. Tatsuo Uemura, Dojo Rep) were held at Yatsushiro City Martial Arts Hall. This time, people from the dojos in Kumamoto as well as Omuta Dojo participated for the first time in a long time.
With over sixty participants, it turned out to be a very lively joint seminar.

Shochu-geiko will begin soon. There are many people who have become sick due to the heat during a practice. There are also positive cases of COVID-19 from time to time.
Let’s practice as taking a break and getting some water, and carefully sanitizing hands, wearing a mask and ventilating.
