I hope this message finds you well despite the lingering summer heat.

With the Obon holiday now over, the training for the second half of the year has begun at each dojo. This year, the directly managed dojos once again held Shochu Geiko (summer training sessions).

This year, we were concerned due to the closure of the Tenjin Dojo, but despite the relentless heatwave, 83 practitioners achieved perfect attendance across 9 dojos.

The perfect attendance award featured the calligraphy of “Small efforts accumulate into great things,” advocated by Ninomiya Sontoku. From  (by Sawako Ishikawa). The accumulation of small efforts eventually leads to great harvests and development. Neglecting small matters makes it impossible to accomplish great things.

Hita Shohei Juku 30th Anniversary

The seminar and examination for Hita Shoheijuku (Mr. Shinichiro Hashimoto, Dojo Rep) and Himawari Nursery School where Mr. Hashimoto serves as director, were held on Saturday, August 23rd, at the city’s General Gymnasium.

Members of “Shomonkai” also participated from Fukuoka. After the event, we boarded a yakatabune (traditional Japanese houseboat) and enjoyed a dinner party while watching the cormorant fishing.
